About The Position

Molecular biology research laboratory is looking for a laboratory assistant (6-9 hours/week). Preference for a biology major who has completed at least two major lab classes. Additional laboratory experience is a plus. Schedule is flexible as long as the hours are during the normal workday of 9AM-5PM.Must be able to consistently schedule three blocks of time of at least 2-4 hours. Must be available to work all semester and ideally beyond.

Responsibilities

Monitoring high-use consumable product stocks
Placing and tracking lab supply orders
Interacting with Environmental Health and Safety for lab waste disposal as needed
Washing glassware
Making stock solutions
Autoclaving
Preparing LB broth plates
Washing and autoclaving glassware and supplies
General lab cleanup and organization
Making stock solutions
