About The Position

D.M. Burr Security is hiring a part-time Unarmed Security Officer for the Oakland Schools Technical Campus in Pontiac. The position works Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. A company-provided car is available for travel from the Flint office to the work location. The wage is $17.25 per hour, and DailyPay is available. The company describes its security services as serving schools, government and public facilities, manufacturing plants, financial institutions, retail centers, and other locations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong observational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must pass a background check and any required licensing or training.
Valid driver's license and clear driving record.

Nice To Haves

Prior security or customer service experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Patrol assigned premises on foot or by vehicle to deter and detect intrusion, unauthorized persons, or suspicious activity.
Monitor security systems, alarms, and surveillance cameras.
Control facility access by verifying identification and credentials.
Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, providing assistance as needed.
Document incidents, daily activities, and security irregularities in clear, accurate, timely written reports.
Enforce property rules and regulations professionally and courteously.
Provide customer service while interacting with employees, visitors, and the public.
Assist with evacuations and other emergency safety procedures.
Liaise with local law enforcement or emergency responders as necessary.
Follow company policies and procedures to maintain standards of conduct and appearance.
