About The Position

GCI Security, Inc. is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer for evening/overnight shifts in the Greater St. Louis Area. This role is positioned as a launchpad for a security career, offering paid training and a clear promotion path into leadership, operations, and executive-level positions within the company. The starting pay is $18.00-$20.00 per hour, with potential for unlimited long-term earnings through GCI's Fast-Track Leadership Program. Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from assigned job sites.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Prior security, military, or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
• Individuals who are new to the security field are welcome; GCI Security will guide through the licensing process and reimburse fees during the first three months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high-visibility presence to deter crime and reinforce client peace of mind.
• Conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols to monitor premises, secure perimeters, and identify safety concerns.
• Observe and report suspicious activity or safety hazards promptly and accurately.
• Provide friendly, professional interaction with residents, guests, employees, and the general public.
• Enforce site-specific policies and procedures while maintaining GCI’s standards of courtesy and respect.
• Write clear, detailed incident reports and daily shift logs using GCI’s reporting systems.
• Respond to alarms, disturbances, or incidents with calm, sound judgment and professionalism.
• Assist emergency personnel as needed and communicate effectively with law enforcement when required.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent the GCI brand with integrity at all times.
• Stay alert, aware, and present — minimizing distractions while on duty.
• Prepare each post for success by arriving on time, following post orders, and completing all shift responsibilities.
• Communicate regularly with field supervisors and dispatch to ensure seamless coverage and quick response.
• Participate in ongoing training to build professional skills and prepare for advancement opportunities within GCI.
