About The Position

Advanced Professional Security (APS), a local black- and minority-owned business in the Phoenix area, is seeking dedicated Unarmed Security Guards to meet client needs. The role helps ensure the safety of residents, guests, visitors, and clients. Candidates should be observant, composed under pressure, professional in appearance and behavior, and demonstrate integrity, self-discipline, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Guards monitor assigned sites, follow post orders and established procedures, respond to incidents and emergencies, and coordinate with law enforcement and other security personnel. They may provide directions or guidance and perform other related duties as assigned. The position requires the ability to stand, sit, and walk for up to 10 hours and lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Candidates must be able to commute reliably to client sites within 30 minutes of their home address.

APS offers full-time and part-time positions, with day, swing, and night shifts available. The role will remain open until filled.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to perform all job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be able to carry out instructions furnished in English, in written or oral form, and speak and comprehend English without translation.
• Must be neat, well-groomed, and present a professional appearance.
• Must meet any special qualifications set forth in post orders or other relevant protocols and directives.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona Security Guard License (AZDPS Security Guard Form Triage).
• Ability to stand, sit, and walk for up to 10 hours and lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to reliably commute to client sites located within 30 minutes of the candidate's home address.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveillance of the assigned site or post and ensure post orders are followed as written and trained.
• Follow established protocols and respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and other security personnel to coordinate efforts and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Make immediate emergency notifications when confronted with credible information.
• Maintain a command presence on post in accordance with uniform and PPE standards, as needed for the assignment.
• Remain knowledgeable of security orders, directives, and procedures.
• Provide directions or guidance as necessary.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
