Under the supervision of the Lead Ultrasound Technologist, this position provides direct patient care services and other related functions in support of the department. The technologist performs independently within the scope of department policies and clinically works at the direction of a qualified Radiologist. This position is primarily assigned to support clinical operations at the Nashoba/Groton campus. Due to the specialized pediatric patient population and available clinical resources, initial orientation, training, and competency validation for pediatric ultrasound examinations will be conducted at the University Campus. Following successful completion of orientation, the employee's primary work assignment will remain at the Nashoba/Groton campus. When clinically indicated, additional education, competency assessment, remediation, or maintenance of pediatric ultrasound competencies may be scheduled at the University Campus to ensure continued proficiency and compliance with departmental standards.
