Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer - Per Diem
About The Position
Cottage Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist to join our Radiology team. This position offers scheduling flexibility while providing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through high-quality diagnostic imaging and compassionate patient care in a collaborative hospital environment. The Ultrasound Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations under the supervision of a Radiologist, producing high-quality images to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach to care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Current ARDMS certification (or registry eligible, if applicable).
- Current BLS certification required.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital ultrasound experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations following physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Prepare, position, and educate patients while ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination.
- Obtain high-quality diagnostic images with accurate measurements and annotations for radiologist interpretation.
- Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures as appropriate.
- Maintain and disinfect ultrasound equipment according to hospital policies and infection prevention standards.
- Accurately document examinations within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nursing staff, and other departments to provide efficient, coordinated patient care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all hospital, regulatory, and safety standards.
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional competency.
