The Ultrasound Technologist 2 is responsible for performing sonographic procedures by the application of ultrasound to produce images under a variety of conditions and assisting physicians as required in the selection of practical applications and technical factors. This role involves producing quality sonograms, understanding cross-sectional anatomy, and utilizing equipment capabilities effectively. The technologist will assist physicians with procedures, prepare sonogram images with accurate measurements and pathology identification, and ensure images are correctly sent to PACS. Responsibilities also include reviewing next-day schedules and past reports for learning, maintaining knowledge of sterile procedures, and managing clinic computers and telephone systems for patient care. Proficiency in RIS, PACS, EHR, Employee Benefit system, and the Radiology home page is required. Additionally, the role involves maintaining the GUS soaking system, managing ultrasound supplies, reporting and troubleshooting equipment failures, and assisting with patient transport. This position is also responsible for orienting and training new Ultrasound technologists, managing paid time off requests, and adhering to clinic policies regarding incident reporting, OSHA, customer service, and ethical standards. Other job duties may be assigned.
