About The Position

A healthcare facility in California is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join its diagnostic imaging team. The Ultrasound Technologist will perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures in a fast-paced acute care environment, providing high-quality imaging services to inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and portable patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and experience working with diverse patient populations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Ultrasound Technology program.
  • ARDMS Certification in at least one specialty – Required
  • Current BLS Certification – Required
  • Experience performing general ultrasound examinations.
  • Experience with OB/GYN, vascular, renal, pelvic, and small-parts imaging.
  • Proficiency with Doppler studies and vascular ultrasound procedures.
  • Experience using PACS systems.
  • Strong communication, patient care, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing patient care needs and departmental assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • ARRT (R)
  • RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist)
  • Experience with GE ultrasound equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Conduct general, OB/GYN, vascular, renal, pelvic, and small-parts ultrasound studies.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
  • Perform Doppler studies and vascular imaging procedures.
  • Assist with specialized ultrasound-guided procedures, including biopsies, fine needle aspirations (FNA), paracentesis, and thoracentesis as required.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality throughout all imaging procedures.
  • Accurately document patient information and imaging results within the electronic medical record system.
  • Utilize PACS and imaging software for image storage and retrieval.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
  • Float between departments or patient care areas as needed.
  • Participate in on-call coverage and occasional weekend assignments.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and report any operational concerns promptly.
