About The Position

The Sonographer reports to the designated leader within the Imaging Department. As a Sonographer, you will provide clinical services according to ultrasound practice standards and act as a resource to students, residents, fellows and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions. To help achieve our mission, you will administer sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies and procedures to ensure the safety of patients. Your ability to complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations is essential. Demonstrating safety for patients, staff and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines is of vital importance. Maintaining equipment, exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition is required.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Diploma from certified school of Radiology required.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Sonographer and acute care experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with The Joint Commission and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates strong, organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
  • Must have computer proficiency and knowledge of various software applications.
  • Current RDMS license required.
  • Abdomen and Retroperitoneal registry required, and/or Breast and Vascular registry preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Acute care experience preferred.
  • Breast and Vascular registry preferred.
