About The Position

The Ultrasound Tech operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound examinations and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices. The role provides patient services using ultrasound equipment and requires knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology. The technologist provides care to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients and communicates effectively with staff and radiologists.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved CAAHEP Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or an approved Sonography Program by the ARRT.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technology in Radiology (R), the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or ARRT(S).
• For Breast Ultrasound, registration through ARRT (BS) can meet the licensure requirement.
• BLS certified.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
• Provide patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology.
• Provide patient care to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Communicate effectively with staff and radiologists.
