About The Position

The Ultrasound Tech Student performs a broad range of duties to support the uniform operation of the department. The role receives and processes necessary paperwork, maintains ongoing records, and performs exams according to policy while assuring patient safety, comfort, and protection. The student assists the radiologist and attending physician, communicates effectively and appropriately, works efficiently and productively, and maintains a clean and safe environment through proper use and care of equipment. The role reflects a caring attitude toward patients, visitors, and employees.

Requirements

• Must have completed a clinical competency, be in training, and be in good standing with the Sonography Program at an affiliate school of Ultrasonography (GSCC or WSCC).
• Should have completed at least one semester of clinical rotation in this department, or be willing to complete an in-service with one of the Registered Technologists before beginning a weekend shift.
• Should have CPR certification.
