About The Position
Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the Medical Lab Technician performs laboratory testing in various laboratory sections, conducts control testing, and initiates troubleshooting steps for problem areas. The listed duties describe the principal functions of the role and are not a detailed account of every work requirement. The position is PRN, with a varying shift, at Marshall Medical Centers North.
Requirements
- Associate of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, or a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, chemical science, physical science, or biological science.
- Alternatively, a degree in chemical, physical, or biological science with clinical training at a school approved by ASCP.
- Competency in applicable components of laboratory technology.
- Verbal ability to communicate instructions and other information to patients and other clientele.
- Numerical ability to calculate by formula.
- Form perception and visual acuity in the color spectrum to perform specific laboratory tests.
Nice To Haves
- ASCP registration is preferred.
