Requirements

Completion of accredited program in ultrasound.
ARDMS (AB or OB/GYN or VT) or ARRT (S) required at time of hire (specific requirements vary by role).
If not ARDMS (OB/GYN) registered at time of hire, registry required within twelve months of hire with the first attempt to pass the OB/GYN registry within six months of hire (for Inpatient).
If not ARDMS (OB/GYN) registered at time of hire, registry required within six months of hire (for Outpatient).
If not ARDMS (RVT) registered at time of hire, registry required within 12 months of hire (for Outpatient).
If not ARDMS (BR) registered at time of hire, registry required within 12 months of hire (for Outpatient Women's).
If not ARDMS (RVT) registered at time of hire, registry required within 24 months of hire (for Outpatient Women's).
American Heart Association CPR required.
Constant (67-100% of workday) use of arms and hands.
Frequent (34-66% of workday) standing, walking, sitting.
Occasional (0-33% of workday) bending and squatting.
Ability to lift 35 lbs.
Ability to push and pull up to 20 lbs.
Auditory and visual skills to include color determination.
Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills.

For MRI Associates: Must complete MRI Associate screening and be approved to work in the MRI environment (Zones 3 & 4) at all times.

Responsibilities

Perform ultrasound procedures for Inpatient (Mary Washington Hospital and Stafford Hospital) and Outpatient (Various facilities through the Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, King George and Stafford areas).
Ensure compliance with ARDMS and ARRT certifications.
Maintain American Heart Association CPR certification.
Utilize critical thinking and analytical skills.
Multi-task effectively.
Communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.
Cope with difficult situations.
Tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Manage risk of exposure to radiation and toxic chemicals.
Handle potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Complete MRI Associate screening and be approved to work in the MRI environment (Zones 3 & 4) if applicable.
Adhere to policies regarding mandatory vaccines (Annual flu vaccine), with potential for medical and religious exemptions.
