About The Position

The Ultrasound team at Texas Health Frisco is seeking a Sonographer to provide patient care in the Radiology Department. This PRN position works shifts as needed on a rotating schedule that includes days and nights. It also requires one on-call weekend approximately every 8–9 weeks and participation in the holiday schedule. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification before providing independent patient care; must be maintained quarterly.
• Upon hire, either ARRT Sonography certification plus one additional modality, or ARDMS certification with two certifications.
• RVT or VT(RVS) certification as one modality if performing vascular sonography.
• Competency in scanning and equipment operation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize.

Nice To Haves

• Graduation from an AMA-approved or accredited Ultrasound Program.
• Associate's degree.
• One year of experience in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients or, where applicable, their guardians or family members before and during exams.
• Image the correct anatomical area of interest and pathology according to department protocols.
• Perform complex procedures while accounting for age-related criteria and developmental considerations.
• Adjust ultrasound parameters appropriately to obtain quality images.
• Assist radiologists with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique.
• Process and manipulate images, analyze image quality, troubleshoot, and suggest differential diagnoses.
