About The Position

The Ultrasonographer performs basic diagnostic ultrasound examinations as prescribed by physicians and documents findings. The role assists physicians with invasive procedures as needed and provides appropriate patient care, recognizing patient conditions essential to successfully completing procedures. The position is based at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience in a related field.
• Upon hire, required: CRT-Sonographer (S) certification from ARRT, or CRT-Abdomen (AB) certification from ARDMS, with the stated departmental and service-line exclusions.
• Upon hire, required: CRT-Ob/Gyn (OB) certification from ARDMS, with the stated departmental and service-line exclusions.
• For applicable vascular imaging assignments, one year required: CRT-Vascular Technologist (VT) certification from ARDMS or CRT-Vascular Sonographer (VS) certification from ARRT, with the stated departmental and service-line exclusions.
• For applicable breast imaging assignments, one year required: CRT-Breast Sonographer (BS) certification from ARRT or CRT-Breast (BR) certification from ARDMS. Certification is required within one year for Grand Rapids Breast Imaging and within two years for all regionals performing breast ultrasound.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic diagnostic ultrasound examinations as prescribed by a physician.
• Document examination findings.
• Assist physicians with invasive procedures as needed.
• Provide appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential to successful procedure completion.
