Riverside Smithfield Hospital, opening in early 2026, aims to provide high-quality healthcare to Isle of Wight County residents. This new hospital, located on a 27-acre campus, features modern facilities and comprehensive medical services. The 200,000-square-foot, three-story hospital includes an Emergency Department, Diagnostic Imaging Services, 38 Medical/Surgical beds, 12 ICU beds, and 4 Operating Rooms. Responsibilities

Perform a wide range of ultrasound exams, including general ultrasound, breast, OB/GYN, and other ultrasound exams on incoming patients.
Respond to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and processes, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
Manage daily operations of the ultrasound lab, patient schedule, and equipment maintenance.
Report equipment failures.
Conduct quality assessment (QA).
Maintain a high standard of medical ethics and pursue lifelong learning to increase understanding of the field, diseases, and new procedures.
Use imaging equipment and soundwaves to form images for diagnosis.
Produce quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures.
Provide and maintain clinical documentation per scope of practice.
Educate patients/families regarding the procedure to be performed.
Explain the procedure and independently perform ultrasound exams on patients following established protocols.
Evaluate images for quality and interpret what image is captured.
Present images and preliminary findings to the physician.
Maintain the ultrasound equipment and sterilize the room.
Perform and evaluate equipment quality control measurements.
Troubleshoot and ensure equipment functionality.
Monitor and maintain an adequate inventory of supplies and materials to ensure non-interruption of services.
Understand and adhere to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards.
Follow RHS policies and procedures.
Report variances.
