About The Position

This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations. HII designs, develops, integrates and manages the sensors, systems and other assets necessary to support integrated ISR operations and accelerated decision-making. Summary: HII Mission Technologies is seeking a UI/UX Designer to support the United States Postal Service (USPS) Office of Inspector General (OIG). The UI/UX Designer will craft modern, intuitive designs that make our web tools simple and engaging to use. This role is hybrid with 1 day per week onsite at our Arlington, VA location.

Requirements

2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
Conceptual understanding of User Interface Design and the Design Process
Intermediate to advanced user of Adobe Creative Suite (or other designer tools)
Intermediate level of HTML, CSS and Bootstrap
Basic JavaScript skills
Understanding of Less and Sass
Understanding of responsive design and touch interface interaction techniques and be in sync with recent design standards and trends
Understanding of the limitations of web and mobile, with approaches/ideas to flex those boundaries.
A solid portfolio of work demonstrating experience creating great user‐centered design solutions across multiple interfaces and screen sizes
Must be a U.S. Citizen

Nice To Haves

At least 5 years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role
Excellent communication and team‐oriented skills
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

Design intuitive interfaces and user flows for OIG web applications.
Create wireframes, mockups, and UI specifications to support clear, modern designs.
Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to understand needs and gather feedback.
Translate complex requirements into simple, effective visual workflows.
Modernize site graphics and interaction elements while following U.S. design standards.
Improve navigation paths and overall usability with minimal custom coding.
Participate in testing to ensure designs function as intended.
