Accenture Construct – UI/UX Designer (Energy), ANS

Accenture Construct•Houston, TX
•$115,000 - $145,000•Hybrid

About The Position

The UI/UX Designer will support Accenture Construct’s energy-related work by shaping user experiences for AI-enabled use cases and complex workflows in engineering, construction, and capital project environments. The role spans discovery, service design, workflow definition, interface design, prototyping, development collaboration, and delivery. The designer will work with business users, functional SMEs, architects, developers, and project leadership to translate business needs into intuitive, feasible, build-ready experiences. The position includes facilitating discovery and collaborative workshops; synthesizing user and process insights; mapping current- and future-state journeys, service blueprints, and workflows; and identifying opportunities to improve processes or enable automation and AI. The designer will create information architectures, task flows, wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and interactive Figma prototypes, iterating with users and stakeholders. For AI-enabled experiences, the designer will make AI interactions understandable and define appropriate user input, review, validation, feedback, and human-in-the-loop controls. The designer will collaborate with technical and functional teams to account for system, data, integration, security, platform, and business-rule constraints. Responsibilities also include preparing annotated, build-ready design artifacts and documentation; supporting user stories and acceptance criteria; clarifying design intent during development; and conducting design reviews and UX quality checks. The role owns assigned design activities with limited day-to-day oversight and may manage priorities across multiple use cases. Work is flexible and includes a mix of remote work and onsite time at a client location or Accenture office or center, with some in-person collaboration expected.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in UX design, UI design, product design, experience design, service design, or a closely related field.
  • Strong hands-on proficiency with Figma, including wireframing, high-fidelity design, interactive prototyping, components, and collaborative design.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating discovery sessions, user workshops, workflow discussions, or collaborative design sessions with business stakeholders.
  • Experience translating complex business processes, pain points, and requirements into clear and intuitive user experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to create user journeys, task flows, workflow diagrams, service blueprints, and interactive prototypes.
  • Experience designing enterprise, operational, workflow-driven, or business-to-business applications.
  • Experience designing interactively in front of users and incorporating feedback in real time or through rapid iteration.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, usability, interaction design, and information architecture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Systems, Psychology, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting energy, utilities, engineering, construction, infrastructure, EPC, or owner/operator organizations.
  • Familiarity with capital project delivery, engineering workflows, construction processes, project controls, supply chain, materials management, quality, or field operations.
  • Experience designing AI-enabled products, copilots, decision-support solutions, intelligent workflows, or automation use cases.
  • Experience with service design methods such as service blueprinting, journey mapping, persona development, ecosystem mapping, and experience measurement.
  • Experience designing complex workflow applications involving approvals, role-based activities, multiple systems, and business exceptions.
  • Familiarity with design systems, reusable component libraries, and enterprise application design standards.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in business requirements, discovery, and process-design sessions with functional SMEs and business users.
  • Plan and facilitate workshops to understand processes, user needs, pain points, decision points, handoffs, and improvement opportunities.
  • Create an environment for business users to participate in shaping future experiences; guide users from broad feedback toward defined needs, workflows, and design decisions.
  • Synthesize information from interviews, workshops, requirements, and process documentation into design insights.
  • Facilitate alignment among business, functional, technical, and delivery stakeholders, and present concepts and design tradeoffs.
  • Develop current- and future-state user journeys and service blueprints for priority AI use cases.
  • Map end-to-end workflows, including activities, decisions, approvals, handoffs, exceptions, and system interactions; identify friction, unclear ownership, and opportunities for automation or AI.
  • Define user interactions with AI-enabled capabilities, including review, decision support, escalation, and exception handling; develop personas or user profiles when needed.
  • Translate business processes, journeys, and requirements into intuitive front-end experiences, including information architecture, task flows, wireframes, screen concepts, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Develop interactive Figma prototypes for workshops, reviews, and user validation; design collaboratively and incorporate feedback through iterative cycles.
  • Define layouts, navigation, interactions, forms, dashboards, notifications, prompts, and other interface elements, including non-standard and exception states.
  • Apply accessibility, consistency, usability, and responsive-design considerations; use existing design systems and component libraries or help establish reusable patterns.
  • Design understandable AI experiences, including user input, review of AI outputs, validation, decisions, feedback, and human-in-the-loop controls.
  • Work with functional and technical stakeholders to align AI experiences with business rules, data, technical capabilities, and governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects and developers to confirm feasibility and incorporate systems, data, integration, security, and platform constraints.
  • Translate approved designs into build-ready artifacts, annotated designs, interaction specifications, component behavior, business rules, and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with functional SMEs to validate business requirements and support user stories, design acceptance criteria, and backlog items as required.
  • Clarify design intent during development, conduct design reviews and UX quality checks, and help resolve design issues while preserving user and business outcomes.
  • Own assigned design activities and deliverables with limited day-to-day oversight, manage priorities across use cases, and document decisions, assumptions, questions, dependencies, and feedback.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and decisions to Project Leadership; collaborate in a lean delivery pod; balance user desirability, business value, technical feasibility, and delivery constraints; present client-ready materials to stakeholders and leadership.
