About The Position

The Project Manager for Cancer Programs is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of cancer-related initiatives within UChicago Medicine’s Urban Health Initiative and Cancer Pavilion. This role leads multiple project workstreams, manages timelines and deliverables, and facilitates collaboration among internal teams and external partners to advance cancer care, community outreach, and health equity. The Project Manager supports program implementation; monitors progress and ensures alignment with organizational goals and grant requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Social Work, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in cancer program coordination or healthcare program management strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the collaboration of multiple cancer program projects across UCM hospitals, UHI, and the Cancer Pavilion, ensuring integration and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute project plans, timelines, and communications for cancer initiatives; provide regular updates and synthesize complex information for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary meetings, develop agendas, document decisions, and track action items to drive project progress and stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee reporting activities including data collection coordination, progress monitoring, and preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Coordinate logistical and administrative support for cancer programs, including scheduling, resource procurement, and preparation of educational and outreach materials.
  • Plan and support community outreach and engagement events, fostering partnerships and enhancing program visibility.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support UHI operations and strategic cancer initiatives.
