About The Position

The UGE Laborer/Groundman supports the Construction team by preparing and cleaning construction sites, loading and unloading building materials, operating equipment and machines, and assisting craft workers. The role works with personnel within the department and helps crews complete construction work safely and effectively. The position operates in a field environment and involves physically active work, including bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, and twisting. Work may take place in inclement weather, including extreme heat or cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The role requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, as well as specified visual, spatial-judgment, hand-eye coordination, and color-identification abilities. MasTec Utility Services provides infrastructure construction and engineering services for power delivery, gas, water, sewer, and civil infrastructure customers. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to perform extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, and twisting.
Ability to work in inclement weather, including extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and spatial relationships.
Precise hand-eye coordination.
Ability to identify and distinguish colors.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience.
CDL Class A driver's license.

Responsibilities

Clean and prepare construction sites for work by removing debris and potential hazards.
Assist tradesmen so they can complete skilled tasks effectively.
Identify utilities and monitor the dig crew to help prevent utility hits.
Clean and maintain equipment.
Restock trucks with supplies and ensure crews have the tools and supplies needed to complete the job.
