About The Position

The UGE Laborer/Groundman supports the Construction team by preparing and cleaning construction sites, loading and unloading building materials, operating equipment and machines, and assisting craft workers with their duties. The role works with personnel within the department and helps crews complete construction work safely and effectively.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current and valid state driver’s license.
Able to bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
Able to perform extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, and twisting.
Able to work in inclement weather, including extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships.
Precise hand-eye coordination.
Ability to identify and distinguish colors.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience.
Current and valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Responsibilities

Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards.
Assist tradesmen in completing skilled tasks effectively.
Identify utilities and monitor the dig crew to help prevent utility hits.
Clean and maintain equipment.
Restock trucks with supplies to ensure crews have the tools and materials needed to complete the job.
