The UCN Mining Readiness Program is a four-week in-person training program designed to equip individuals from Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation (PBCN), Cumberland House Cree Nation (CHCN), and Métis Nation of Saskatchewan (MNS) with the practical skills, industry knowledge, and safety certifications necessary for entry-level mining roles. Delivered in partnership by Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran, University College of the North (UCN), and NORCAT, the program aims to prepare participants for successful careers in the mining industry. Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran anticipates filling up to four entry-level Miner Trainee positions from program graduates, contingent on business needs and successful completion of the recruitment process. Graduates not immediately placed may be considered for future openings. Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran is a progressive mining company focused on advancing the McIlvenna Bay Project, a significant copper development project containing copper, zinc, gold, and silver. The company is dedicated to sustainable development, environmental stewardship, community engagement, and creating career opportunities.
