About The Position

The UCN Mining Readiness Program is a four-week in-person training program designed to equip individuals from Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation (PBCN), Cumberland House Cree Nation (CHCN), and Métis Nation of Saskatchewan (MNS) with the practical skills, industry knowledge, and safety certifications necessary for entry-level mining roles. Delivered in partnership by Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran, University College of the North (UCN), and NORCAT, the program aims to prepare participants for successful careers in the mining industry. Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran anticipates filling up to four entry-level Miner Trainee positions from program graduates, contingent on business needs and successful completion of the recruitment process. Graduates not immediately placed may be considered for future openings. Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran is a progressive mining company focused on advancing the McIlvenna Bay Project, a significant copper development project containing copper, zinc, gold, and silver. Requirements

  • Must be a member of Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation (PBCN), Cumberland House Cree Nation (CHCN), or self-identify as Métis and be eligible to be a member of or registered as a citizen of the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan (MNS) and a member of a Métis local within Saskatchewan Métis Eastern Region 1.
  • Interested in gaining practical skills, industry knowledge, and safety certifications for entry-level mining roles.
  • Complete all required information to create a profile and upload a resume.
  • Include a short introductory paragraph explaining interest in the program.
  • Attend in-person assessments and interviews in Flin Flon, Manitoba on Monday, September 28, 2026.
  • Be available to begin the program on Monday, October 19, 2026, in Flin Flon, Manitoba.
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing, if offered a position with Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan.

Responsibilities

  • Fully participate in the entire four-week in-person training program.
  • Arrange and pay for own food and lodging during the program.
  • Meet all workplace safety and readiness requirements for the program.
