About The Position

This position is reserved for Nunavik Inuit Beneficiary of the JBNQA. Canadian Royalties Inc. is a private company that owns significant nickel and copper deposits in Nunavik. This is a permanent position with 2 openings. The work location is at Nunavik and the normal work schedule is on a rotation of 4 weeks: 2 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 2 weeks for rest.

Requirements

• Hold a Level 5 high school diploma or equivalent
• Class 5 driver's license (territorial accepted)
• Have the ability to lift loads up to 20 kg
• Hold an explosive permit (Condition of employment)

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a similar position
• Able to communicate orally and written in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, English or French (trilingual will be considered an asset)

Responsibilities

• Sharpen and grind drill bits and safely repair drilling hammers while maintaining a high standard of quality
• Inspect equipment before and after each shift
• Perform tasks in accordance with current safety standards (road safety and occupational health and safety)
• Perform any other tasks as required by the supervisor
