About The Position

Peak Workforce Solutions (Newbold Services) is seeking a UAS Solutions & Integration Specialist for a client in Mauldin, South Carolina. The specialist guides customer projects from initial needs assessment through deployment and operational handoff, combining technical consulting, project coordination, and hands-on UAS implementation. The role assesses customer requirements, recommends appropriate technologies, coordinates infrastructure and software integration, and helps clients establish reliable operating processes. The specialist owns implementation and coordinates specialized expertise—including installation contractors, IT teams, software developers, manufacturers, and regulatory support—as projects require. The schedule is Monday through Friday, on site. The role also requires willingness to travel to customer sites and perform fieldwork as projects require.

Requirements

  • FAA Remote Pilot Certificate under Part 107, with current eligibility to conduct commercial UAS operations.
  • Hands-on experience operating UAS and working knowledge of current aircraft, payloads, software, and commercial applications.
  • Experience helping establish or expand UAS infrastructure or operational capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing UAS or comparable connected technology systems, with clear responsibility for project delivery.
  • Ability to assess business requirements and translate them into practical technical recommendations.
  • Working understanding of networking, communications, data workflows, and systems integration sufficient to collaborate with technical specialists.
  • Ability to develop project scopes, cost estimates, implementation documentation, and customer training materials.
  • Strong client communication, organization, troubleshooting, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage evolving priorities in a startup environment.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and perform fieldwork as projects require.
  • Required UAS experience; relevant implementation experience may also include robotics, industrial automation, security systems, telecommunications, or similar technologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience deploying UAS docking stations or remotely managed drone systems.
  • Experience integrating drone data into GIS, asset management, inspection, maintenance, or security platforms.
  • Familiarity with APIs, cloud platforms, mission automation, and software integration.
  • Experience defining human oversight, exception handling, and recovery procedures for automated systems.
  • Experience developing corporate drone programs, standard operating procedures, or pilot training.
  • Familiarity with FAA authorization and waiver processes.
  • Experience coordinating vendors, installation contractors, or technical subcontractors.
  • Background in technical consulting, customer implementation, or solutions engineering.
  • Direct coding experience is helpful but not required for a role focused on solution design and implementation coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer workflows, operational challenges, budgets, and desired outcomes; identify where drone technology offers practical value and when another approach may be more suitable.
  • Develop solution recommendations, from aircraft procurement to dock deployments and integrated automated workflows.
  • Compare aircraft, payloads, docks, software, and service providers, considering compatibility, support, security, ongoing costs, and vendor dependence.
  • Prepare scopes of work, implementation plans, cost estimates, and measurable success criteria.
  • Coordinate equipment selection, procurement, configuration, and initial testing.
  • Assess deployment sites for operational suitability, connectivity, power, physical security, environmental conditions, and maintenance access.
  • Coordinate dock and supporting infrastructure installations with qualified contractors, customer facilities teams, and technology providers.
  • Establish practical arrangements for equipment storage, charging, battery management, maintenance, and spare parts.
  • Conduct commissioning and acceptance testing to confirm deployed systems meet agreed requirements.
  • Work with customer IT and operations teams to connect UAS platforms and data outputs to existing business systems.
  • Help define automated workflows, including mission scheduling, data processing, reporting, alerts, human oversight, and responses to system failures.
  • Translate customer requirements into clear specifications for vendors and software developers.
  • Coordinate requirements for network access, user permissions, cybersecurity review, data ownership, and storage.
  • Identify technical and operational dependencies that must be resolved before advanced capabilities can be deployed.
  • Conduct demonstrations, pilot projects, and flight operations to evaluate proposed solutions.
  • Develop operating procedures, training materials, and handoff documentation; train customer personnel and clarify responsibility for ongoing program management.
  • Support risk assessment and coordinate applicable operational approvals with appropriate expertise.
  • Establish maintenance, troubleshooting, escalation, and support processes.
  • Evaluate results against customer goals and recommend improvements.
  • Contribute technical content to proposals and customer presentations.
  • Manage project scope, communicate progress, and identify changes affecting cost or delivery.
  • Build relationships with manufacturers, software providers, and implementation partners.
  • Stay current with UAS products, emerging capabilities, and industry developments.
  • Help develop repeatable service offerings and implementation practices as the company grows.
