The UA Cares Case Manager is a staff member within the Office of the Dean of Students portfolio and reports directly to the Director for UA Cares. The Case Manager assists in efforts to put students first and is a central part of the University’s effort to create an engaging campus environment by providing advocacy and support services that increase student engagement, success, retention/persistence, and graduation. This position is highly collaborative and plays a lead role in nonclinical student case management developing and implementing both long- and short-term response plans to address a wide range of student experiences and concerns. Examples include but are not limited to basic needs insecurity, physical and mental health, adjustment concerns, student safety, academic, personal/family crisis, and integration into campus life. The Case Manager works in consultation and collaborates with internal and external partners to provide students who may be experiencing difficulty and are unable to access services and needed resources. The Case Manager will also lead specific department initiatives and associated assessment efforts related to the ongoing development and maintenance of comprehensive resources including referral agencies, other on campus offices/departments, and other relevant resources for students. The Case Manager serves on various committees and has some after-hours responsibilities. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
