About The Position

A career in our International Tax Desk practice, within International Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help multinational companies address their cross-border tax needs both locally and globally by managing their global tax rates, finding areas of cost reduction, and responding to inquiries from regulatory authorities. You’ll gain a global perspective and an awareness of tax issues stemming from changes to evolving business structures and geographic expansions. As a U.S. Tax Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high-quality client service and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business.
  • Experience with U.S Federal and state tax matters, including tax research
  • Experience in a public accounting firm.
  • The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or stakeholders during their employment with PwC Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • U.S. CPA or EA Designation is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Go Systems tax preparation software is desirable.
  • Experience with research platforms such as Checkpoint, BNA, or CCH is considered an asset.
  • Strong written and oral communication abilities, interpersonal skills, and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Good analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • U.S. Corporate Federal and state income tax compliance.
  • U.S. tax provision preparation/U.S. tax provision review.
  • Tax research at the federal and state level. This could include drafting of memos and technical analysis related to specific client matters.
  • Preparation or review of other tax related calculations, i.e. IRC 382 or earnings and profit calculations.
  • Use feedback and reflection to develop self-awareness, personal strengths, and address development areas.
  • Working exclusively with Public and Private Clients.
  • Delegate to others to provide stretch opportunities, coaching them to deliver results.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems.
  • Use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends.
  • Review your work and that of others for quality, accuracy and relevance.
