About The Position

Lam Research is currently hiring for the position of U.S. Financial Benefits Program Manager as part of our world-class Global Benefits team. This role will be responsible for managing and administering U.S. retirement plans, including 401(k), Non-qualified Deferred Comp, Employee Stock Purchase, and Retiree Health Benefits, managing vendor partner relationships, and improving operational solutions to enhance employee engagement with benefit programs, with a strong emphasis on compliance. The position reports to the Sr. Manager, Benefits and is a peer to three other Benefits Program Managers with specialized functional benefits expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience/training, with a minimum of 12+ years of related experience; or 8 years with a master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years of experience.
  • 12+ years of relevant benefits experience; global benefits experience (especially in Asia) is a big plus.
  • Strong program and vendor management experience.
  • Experience with project management and cross-functional work.
  • Strong and current knowledge of the regulatory landscape, including ERISA, 409A, IRS, and other federal and state employment laws.
  • Extensive advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and understanding of payroll concepts.
  • Proficiency with AI tools.
  • Strong negotiation skills; can reach appropriate resolution in many varied situations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations for U.S. Retirement Benefit Programs, including 401(k), Deferred Comp, Employee Stock Purchase, and Retiree Health within multiple systems.
  • Actively manage vendor partners.
  • Oversee funding and reconciliation between payroll systems and recordkeepers.
  • Act as an intermediary for file feed support and escalations.
  • Provide training and guidance to the help desk; respond to Tier 2 inquiries.
  • Conduct regular audits and identify issues and opportunities for streamlined processes and enhanced education.
  • Manage all aspects of compliance, including overseeing the annual 401(k) audit, non-discrimination testing, SOC 1 reporting, and 5500s.
  • Keep up to date on DOL and IRS regulatory compliance and execute annual required notices.
  • Organize quarterly 401(k) committee meetings, including preparing the agenda, gathering materials, actively updating the committee, and taking minutes.
  • Provide ongoing support for the employee stock purchase program, as well as communication support for Open Enrollment.
  • Draft and implement effective employee communications, benefit collateral, and educational presentations.
  • Manage Open Enrollment for retiree health and welfare benefits.
  • Manage ongoing vendor relationships, including program analysis and strategic recommendations.
  • Act as project manager for major benefit projects (i.e., program and system implementations and upgrades).
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing and sustainable processes to enhance the employee and administrative experience.
  • Establish strong cross-functional partnerships with HR Shared Services, HRBPs, Legal, Payroll, and Finance.
