About The Position

The Corporate US Benefits Manager – Communications is responsible for leading the development, governance, and delivery of enterprise-wide employee benefits communications and educational content for US employees. This role serves as the central owner of the benefits communication ecosystem, ensuring employees receive clear, compliant, accessible, and engaging information throughout their benefits journey. The position combines responsibility for communication governance, content quality, operational consistency, and employee experiences across multiple channels and platforms with hands-on content development and communication execution. Operating within a large and complex corporate environment, this role partners closely with Benefits leadership, Legal/ERISA counsel, consultants, vendor partners, US employee benefits subject matter experts, and Corporate Communications to support enterprise employee benefits initiatives, Annual Enrollment, acquisitions and divestitures, organizational changes, and ongoing employee education. The ideal candidate brings strong enterprise communications expertise, operational discipline, governance mindset, and the ability to manage high-volume, multi-channel communications environments while continuously improving communication processes, tools, and employee experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 8-12 years of experience in enterprise communications, employee communications, content strategy, communication operations, or related disciplines within a large, complex organization.
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-volume, multi-channel communication environments.
  • Experience developing governance processes, content standards, communication workflows, and communication operations practices.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, communication, and content development skills.
  • Proven ability to translate complex topics into clear, actionable, employee-friendly communications.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional partnership skills.

  • Experience supporting Benefits, HR, compliance, or other highly regulated employee-facing communication environments.
  • Experience supporting annual enrollment, acquisitions, integrations, organizational change, or large-scale employee communication initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development, governance, execution, and ongoing maintenance of benefits communications across employee-facing communication platforms and channels.
  • Establish and maintain communication standards, templates, content governance practices, version control processes, and publication workflows.
  • Drive a centralized approach to benefits communications that improves consistency, quality, accessibility, and employee understanding.
  • Develop and maintain communication inventories, content repositories, communication calendars, and supporting documentation.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve communication processes, workflows, and governance practices to support scalability and operational effectiveness.
  • Establish scalable intake, review, approval, publication, and version control processes.
  • Partner with US Benefits subject matter experts and leadership, Legal/ERISA counsel, consultants, and vendor partners to ensure content accuracy and consistency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve communication effectiveness, employee engagement, and operational efficiency.
  • Support communication quality assurance processes and governance controls.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely distribution of all required benefits communications, including but not limited to: Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBCs), Annual notices, COBRA communications, Medicare Part D notices, CHIP notices, Other required regulatory communications.
  • Partner with Legal and ERISA counsel to validate compliance language and mitigate risk.
  • Maintain audit-ready communication records, governance controls, and distribution documentation.
  • Lead development and ongoing maintenance of Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), benefits guides, educational materials, enrollment webinars, and employee-facing content.
  • Translate complex benefits information into clear, employee-centered language while maintaining compliance and accuracy.
  • Partner with US Benefits leadership and subject matter experts, consultants, vendors, and Legal teams to ensure content remains current and effective.
  • Develop communication assets supporting benefits programs, policy changes, and employee education efforts.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies aligned to key employee lifecycle moments, including: New hire onboarding, Acquisitions and integrations, Annual enrollment, Ongoing employee education, Qualifying life events, Offboarding and COBRA transitions.
  • Ensure communications are timely, audience-specific, actionable, and aligned to employee decision points.
  • Support communication planning and execution associated with enterprise initiatives, acquisitions, integrations, harmonization efforts, and organizational change activities.
  • Partner with project teams and business stakeholders to develop communication strategies that support organizational readiness and employee adoption.
  • Coordinate communication activities across multiple stakeholders, timelines, and workstreams.
  • Support execution of high-volume communication initiatives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Expand and continuously improve the organization’s US benefits communication library and employee education resources.
  • Evaluate opportunities to modernize communication formats, channels, and employee support content.
  • Improve accessibility, usability, and employee experience across communication platforms.
  • Apply best practices in content design, employee communications, digital engagement, and communication operations.
  • Develop communication guidance, job aids, and educational materials for internal stakeholders.
  • Support HR Business Partners, Benefits team members, managers, and other stakeholder groups with communication resources and training.
  • Enable stakeholders to accurately represent US benefits programs through consistent, high-quality messaging.
  • Manage and develop direct reports, providing coaching, performance management, and professional development support.
  • Establish priorities, workflows, quality standards, and operational expectations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and employee-centered communication practices.
