About The Position

U-Haul is hiring a friendly, energetic and motivated U-Box Warehouse Worker to help meet customer needs and expectations through courteous service. The role involves operating forklifts, loading and unloading storage containers, supporting deliveries and pickups, assisting customers, completing inspections and documentation, and maintaining a clean, dry and secure storage facility. Training is provided for forklift operation. Workers also participate in ongoing education through U-Haul University.

The work may involve moderate risks or discomforts, including working around moving machinery, fumes or irritant chemicals, and may require protective gear. It includes extended periods indoors and outdoors, remaining stationary, moving through spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving items weighing at least 50 pounds with or without assistance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
• Adhere to local, state and federal vehicular regulations while driving.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require employer sponsorship.
• Move a minimum of 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
• In Florida, applicants who use nicotine products are not eligible for hire or re-hire, consistent with applicable state law.

Responsibilities

• Operate an 8,000-pound propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift; training is provided.
• Load and unload storage containers onto and off truck beds for delivery to and from a storage facility.
• Ensure timely delivery.
• Assist customers, including selling support items and using online dispatch and rental systems.
• Perform customer-ready inspections of U-Box containers before dispatch and upon return.
• Prepare, receive and provide appropriate documentation for deliveries or pickups of goods.
• Keep the warehouse storage facility clean, dry and secure.
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
