About The Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Tutoring/Test Prep Instructor to lead an engaging academic support program for students ages 6–17. The instructor will help students strengthen foundational academic skills, build confidence, develop effective study habits, and prepare for classroom assessments through age-appropriate instruction and activities. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and teens, communicates concepts clearly, and creates a positive learning environment that keeps students motivated and engaged.

The program is in person at 101 W. La Habra Blvd., La Habra, CA 90631. The ages 6–12 program runs October 5–28, 2026, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 PM to 6:15 PM. The ages 13–17 program runs November 2–30, 2026, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 PM to 6:15 PM. Pay is $24.00–$28.00 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of tutoring experience.
• At least 2 years of test preparation experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to explain academic concepts in an engaging and easy-to-understand way.
• Patient, dependable, organized, and enthusiastic about helping students succeed.
• Comfort working with students with varying academic abilities.
• Must be available for the scheduled program sessions.
• Must be able to commute to La Habra, CA 90631.

Nice To Haves

• Experience tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or working with school-aged children and teens is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring and academic support to students ages 6–17.
