The Afterschool Tutor helps students learn by reviewing academic content, explaining problem-solving approaches, and checking completed work. The tutor may also teach study skills and organization techniques to support students’ academic performance. In addition to academic instruction, the role involves supervising small groups, providing discipline, and serving as a role model. Tutors should be passionate about helping students learn and able to help them approach difficult skills and concepts in new ways. This position is based in Hall County, with potential work assignments at the Fair Street Club. The tutor aligns lesson plans with Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) and school-based Units of Study, incorporates project-based learning and STREAM activities, and submits weekly lesson plans to the Expanding Learning Director or Lead Teacher. The role implements small-group tutoring schedules during the afterschool and/or summer camp program year, records attendance, communicates with school-day teachers about student action plans and progress, and coordinates with a supervisor to arrange coverage or alternate activities when absent. Other related duties may be assigned.
