Turret Truck or Cherry Picker Operator
About The Position
The PITs Operator safely operates powered industrial trucks (PITs), including forklifts, stock pickers, and turret stock pickers, in a warehouse and manufacturing environment. The role involves accurately and efficiently picking, packing, and shipping orders according to picking tickets and work instructions, as well as receiving, inspecting, and putting away inbound shipments and customer returns. The operator loads and unloads materials from warehouse racking, trailers, and ocean containers while preventing damage to products and equipment. The position also requires completing daily PIT operator safety check sheets and promptly reporting issues. Some equipment raises the operator as high as 25 feet, so comfort with heights is necessary.
Requirements
- Two years of PIV experience; turret stock picker experience is preferred.
- Prior experience making electronic inventory transactions involving product movement and maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Basic computer use.
- Ability to understand and communicate in English verbally and in writing.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work comfortably at heights, as some stock pickers and turret stock pickers raise the operator up to 25 feet.
- High school education or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Turret stock picker experience.
- Knowledge of warehouse management software; Oracle is preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse processes that support a manufacturing operation.
Responsibilities
- Successfully complete PIV certification training classes.
- Safely operate PIVs inside and outside the facility.
- Complete daily PIV operator check sheets.
- Operate PIVs carefully to prevent damage to products or equipment.
- Locate, pull, count, and record goods from shelves for customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Inspect, count, receive, label, and put away goods from purchase orders and customer returns.
- Consolidate and palletize goods according to predetermined work instructions.
- Audit, count, move, and put away goods accurately and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials within warehouse racking, trailers, and ocean containers without damaging products or equipment.
- Promptly report issues with PITs.
