About The Position

MCC is hiring a Turret Rewinder/Machine Operator to check print and seam quality, remove defective material, splice web rolls, handle and palletize rolls, and record production information. Experience is not required, though it is a plus. The position is scheduled for third shift, Sunday through Thursday, 9:45 PM to 6:00 AM, with an additional $1.50 per hour shift differential. Initial training is provided on first shift for eight days and may last longer depending on the new hire’s abilities; training hours are Monday through Friday, 5:45 AM to 2:00 PM.

Requirements

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to calculate label counts and conversions, including using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including frequent walking and occasional climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Vision sufficient for close, distance, and color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and adjusting focus.

Responsibilities

• Continuously check print and seam quality.
• Remove defective material and splice the roll web back together according to specifications.
• Use a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing and as otherwise needed.
• Handle and palletize rolls without damaging them.
• Understand basic printing and seam-related defects.
• Record and enter data on designated paperwork and in the company operation system, Globetek.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
