About The Position

The Rewinder Operator takes rolls of fabric and rewinds them to remove flaws or breaks them down into smaller rolls to meet customer quality and quantity requirements. The role operates a rewinding machine, completes quality checks, identifies and prepares finished rolls, and maintains a clean work area. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and production procedures.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Ability to stand and walk regularly, and to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach; stoop; kneel; crouch; and talk or hear.
• Close vision and good color vision.
• Ability to work near moving mechanical parts.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a machine operator.

Responsibilities

• Thread the rewinding machine and rewind large rolls to customers’ desired lengths.
• Wrap and identify finished fabric rolls, and bundle or palletize them when required.
• Tag rolls for identification.
• Rewind rolls on hold by threading the machine and running the roll to the flaw; remove the flaw by splicing when required.
• Conduct quality checks on material as required.
• Clean and sweep the area around the machine, including the main aisle.
• Bundle and bale scrap material.
• Wear safety shoes and hearing protection at all times.
