About The Position

The Turnaround Planner prepares turnaround job plans and required resources to ensure that turnaround work is sufficiently prepared for a safe, effective and efficient execution. This role is responsible for creating detailed work packages for Maintenance, inspection, and repair activities to be performed during the turnaround. The planner will perform walkthroughs, collect and review documentation, and meet with stakeholders for task clarity. They will prepare job plans with accurate Bill of Material, following Covestro specifications and standards. The role also involves planning assigned AWRs (Additional Work Requests), including discovery work that may emerge during turnaround execution, and ensuring jobs are planned in a timely manner to support the TA preparation schedule. The planner is responsible for obtaining all relevant documentation associated with the turnaround scope and assisting the TA Planning Lead in preparation for scope review sessions. They will analyze Project Issue for Construction (IFC) packages and create job plans for integrated scope to be executed during the TA event. Additionally, the role supports the Scheduling department with logic ties for planning and execution optimization and contributes to the continuous improvement of planning functions by leveraging new technologies and planning tools within the TA process. The planner will also act as backup to the Planning Lead position by facilitating weekly planner meetings, scope review sessions, work package validations, and onboarding contract planners.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 12 years working experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with TA experience; OR Associate's degree or equivalent with 7 years working experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with TA experience.
  • 6 years' experience in Turnaround and Maintenance job planning.
  • The eligibility to apply for and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within a reasonable timeframe.

Responsibilities
