About The Position

CF Industries is currently seeking a full-time, short-term (approximately 4 months) Turnaround Field Safety Advisor to support our Medicine Hat Complex location team. Reporting to the Superintendent, Personal Safety, the Turnaround Field Safety Advisor plays an essential role for assisting in the field coordination of site occupational safety.

Requirements

  • Certificate/Diploma in Health & Safety or related field.
  • Experience in a frontline safety / EHS role within an industrial/construction environment.
  • Ability to work 10 hour day and/or night shifts during the active turnaround period.
  • Demonstrate knowledge skills, abilities and attributes to perform successfully at CF; In the key areas of People Leadership, Results Leadership, Thought Leadership & Self Leadership.
  • Empower others through active listening, collaboration, training, education and technical advice
  • Consider the long- and short-term implications of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Understands and operates within own knowledge and authority limitations.

Nice To Haves

  • Ideally, the incumbent will have background in the Chemical Manufacturing Industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop contacts with plant personnel to help ensure employees have the skills, knowledge and training to effectively implement the corporate and facility EHS policies.
  • Field interaction for projects and routine work
  • Assisting in the delivery of EHS training sessions, etc.
  • Assisting/leading meetings and inspections
  • Attending toolbox talk and area safety meetings
  • Being an in person, hands on, in field representative of EHS
  • Provide coaching in the field to ensure plant personnel understand and follow safe work practices
  • Assist EHS personnel by providing a timely field response to employee safety suggestions and concerns
  • Conduct regular safety reviews of major and routine CF employee and contractor work activities throughout the facility to develop an understanding of improvement opportunities for the site.
  • Complete daily written reporting on field safety activities and key performance indicators.
  • Assist supervision/management in addressing safety concerns and implementing acceptable safety practices/conditions.
