About The Position

As our Health & Safety Advisor for the North, you’ll support and improve colleague safety, providing assurance that the health and safety management system is meeting its legal requirements and that risk controls are in place and effective. This will be achieved through delivering colleague safety training programmes, supporting and advising colleagues in your areas and auditing to a schedule in order to monitor and analyse the performance of the health and safety management system. You'll also be involved in accident investigations and providing a responsive service to colleagues and customers when they need advice on Health & Safety matters. It's an exciting time to join the Health & Safety team due to the changing regulatory landscape in social housing. Your role will make a real impact by improving safety for our customers and colleagues. You'll also support in driving changes to policies and procedures ensuring that we're able to deliver a first-class service.

Requirements

  • NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Deep understanding and experience of current UK health & safety legislative and regulatory requirements and how to apply them.
  • Experience of internal auditing or auditing in a variety of health & safety fields.
  • An appreciation of safety concerns in housing.
  • Driven, inquisitive, accountable, open and honest.
  • Taking ownership of situations from beginning to end to ensure the best possible outcome.
  • Fantastic relationship building skills which enables you to build rapport with all stakeholders.
  • Current eligibility to live and work in the UK.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within the housing sector is advantageous.
  • Ideally you'll have a customer focused mindset.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety management systems.
