Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.
  • 10+ years of TAR management, plant engineering support, or project engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of the Google suite - Sheets, Docs, Slides, Looker, etc.
  • Extensive experience of the CMMS (Maximo).
  • Proficiency in interpreting and advising the use of P6 scheduling tools.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge or understanding of API 510 (for pressure equipment like vessels and exchangers), API 570 (for piping), and API 653 (for storage vessels) and a strong understanding of welding procedures.
  • Knowledge of ASME BPVC Sections VIII and IX, and ASME B31.1 and B31.3 is required.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in areas of procurement, evaluation and selection of contractors, contracts and negotiation.
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel.
  • Comfortable in both corporate and field environments.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize in periods of peak work volume.
  • Ability to work self-directed, make sound decisions.
  • Knowledge of implementing and participating in continuous improvement procedures.
  • Provide engineering support for TAR projects varying between $250K to $30M.
  • Willingness/ability to travel up to 50% of the time to fulfill responsibilities and must be able to travel on short notice (2 to 10 days).
  • Has full range of motion; ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to climb ladders, work off elevated platforms/surfaces.
  • Able to enter confined spaces for inspection/testing, while wearing fall restraint and respirators.
  • Physical range of motion required to climb and descend ladders, work at heights above 50 feet.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with API 579 FFS, ASME PCC-2, and NBIC is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with equivalent international codes (PED, EN standards) or willingness to learn them.
  • Industrial gas experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the effective utilization of the Turnaround Process (TAR SOP) by all related entities and personnel.
  • Accountable for safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance at LI NAM sites.
  • Model safety behavior, enforce safety rules, establish and enhance safety culture.
  • Ensure the TAR process can be viewed, understood, and reported from a project management standpoint, using tools to recognize vulnerabilities, missing information, and devising strategies to fill gaps and deficiencies, often in real time.
  • Key role player in TAR scope verification and job plan development.
  • Review specific job plan steps to ensure work orders are defined and executed properly in adherence to defined maintenance strategies.
  • Review maintenance strategies to ensure their effectiveness.
  • Drive engagement and ensure alignment of the team with TAR objectives.
  • Ensure complete and timely integration of any Capital, Controls, Engineering, or Operations projects scope within the requirements of the TAR SOP, reporting on its progress throughout the TAR process.
  • Lead development of detailed plans/strategies for TAR execution, including close working relations with contracted service providers to ensure prefabrication etc. is in place and accurate.
  • Ensure all pre-TAR work is completed and materials are received prior to outage.
  • Drive material management and QA/QC process throughout the TAR process per the TAR SOP.
  • Drive optimization of the TAR schedule by supporting the TAR manager.
  • Recommend and manage appropriate TAR activities to deliver scope, schedule, and cost requirements.
  • Promptly support the TAR manager with change orders, developing or changing job plans, and support in securing resources in discovery situations.
  • Support in completing work orders in Maximo with sufficiently detailed observations, reports, and findings.
  • Ensure follow-up work orders are entered into Maximo in a timely manner.
  • Manage the scope change process before, during, and after the TAR.
  • Communicate to management in a timely manner on TAR status, issues, and concerns; provide solutions for open issues.
  • Assure issues are resolved in a timely manner to minimize impacts to TAR cost and schedule.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on cost and schedule performance during the TARs.
