About The Position

Student housing turns typically last 20-31 days, where hundreds of students are moving out of a single community just days before a fresh crop is moving back in. Each day you will be assigned a list of areas or units that needs some level of attention. Projects can include assisting with unit trash outs, groundskeeping, assisting maintenance with HVAC or preventative maintenance projects, furniture assembly and installation, and helping residents on move-in day.

Requirements

• Physically able to lift 50 pounds or more for furniture installation.
• Ability to operate smaller tools like allen wrenches for assembling furniture.
• Must be friendly and respectful at all times when interacting with customers.
• Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver office products and supplies of up to twenty (20) pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Furniture Installation – unloading, delivering, installing, and cleaning up furniture. This requires the physical ability to lift 50 pounds or more and operate smaller tools like allen wrenches for assembling furniture.
• Groundskeeping - picking up trash around the exterior of buildings, landscaping (mowing, edging, trimming bushes, planting flowers), walking hallways and common areas, emptying trash bins.
• Housekeeping - sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down common areas and fitness equipment, cleaning offices and bathrooms, floor treatments, or shampooing carpets.
• Move-in Day Assistance – helping residents and families move in, being careful with their personal items, interacting directly with customers in a friendly and respectful manner, and reporting any incidences or complaints to the Community Manager immediately.
• Maintenance Assistance – helping with punch lists (changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, smoke detector batteries), minor repairs (replacing a garbage disposal), major repairs (new HVAC condenser installation), painting touch up in units or common areas, preventative maintenance projects (testing emergency systems, inspecting boilers, cleaning compactor rooms, maintaining common areas), or any type of project where the maintenance team needs an extra hand. Occupied bedrooms will only be entered when accompanied by an on-site team member. All interactions with residents and their families and guests should be limited and professional at all times.
• Using proper safety equipment and protecting yourself from the elements, such as wearing gloves and a hat when outside.
• Staying hydrated, especially when working outside.
