About The Position

This is a temporary/seasonal position focused on student housing turns, which typically last 10-21 days. The role involves assisting with the transition of hundreds of students moving out and new students moving in. Daily tasks include unit trash outs, groundskeeping, assisting maintenance with HVAC or preventative maintenance projects, furniture assembly and installation, and helping residents on move-in day.

Requirements

  • Physically able to lift 50 pounds or more (for furniture installation).
  • Able to operate smaller tools like allen wrenches (for furniture assembly).
  • Must be friendly and respectful at all times (for move-in day assistance).
  • Able to report any incidences or complaints to the Community Manager immediately.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, type, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, or squat.
  • Often required to sit.
  • Able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver office products and supplies of up to twenty (20) pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Furniture Installation, including unloading, delivering, installing, and cleaning up furniture, requiring the ability to lift 50 pounds or more and operate smaller tools like allen wrenches.
  • Groundskeeping, including picking up trash around the exterior of the buildings, landscaping (mowing, edging, trimming bushes, planting flowers), walking hallways and common areas, and emptying trash bins.
  • Housekeeping, including sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down common areas and fitness equipment, cleaning offices and bathrooms, floor treatments, or shampooing carpets.
  • Move-in Day Assistance, helping residents and families move in, requiring careful handling of personal items, friendly and respectful interaction with customers, and reporting any incidences or complaints to the Community Manager immediately.
  • Maintenance Assistance, helping the maintenance team with punch lists (changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, smoke detector batteries), minor repairs (replacing a garbage disposal), major repairs (new HVAC condenser installation), painting touch up in units or common areas, and preventative maintenance projects.
  • Entering occupied bedrooms only when accompanied by an on-site team member.
  • Limiting and maintaining professional interactions with residents, their families, and guests.
  • Using necessary equipment provided by the onsite manager.
  • Staying hydrated, especially when working outside.
  • Using proper safety equipment and protecting oneself from the elements (e.g., wearing gloves and a hat when outside).
