About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Tufting Operator - 3rd shift to join our team in Rumford, RI! The core hours are 11 pm - 7 am. The hourly rate for this position is $28.83 per hour + $0.70 shift differential. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. This role is part of a unionized workforce. After completing 60 days of employment, employees will be eligible to bid on other union positions within the organization. Positions within the union are awarded based on a combination of qualifications and seniority.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).   • Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Rumford, RI will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate tufting cell equipment consisting of the following; Hanking Machine, Plasma Welder, Rapid Air Chopper.
  • Perform assembly operation, tackweld flow deflectors, mark, clean, wax, and packaging seals
  • Work from prints, method sheets, sketches and/or verbal instructions to produce parts in accordance with acceptable quality and quantity levels.
  • Use general measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, depth gages, indicators, comparators, plug and ring gages, measure bristle stiffness, and similar instruments.
  • Check own work after first piece inspection by Group Leader or Supervisor.
  • Report faulty operations, defective materials, or unusual conditions to Group Leader/Supervisor.
  • Follow all prescribed safety precautions, company rules, and regulations.
