Requirements

  • Student in a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) program at a recognized Canadian university.
  • Completed at least three years of law studies.
  • Strong interest in corporate law, securities, and corporate governance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple files simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in legal research and writing (academic or professional).
  • Basic knowledge of Canadian corporate law and securities regulation.
  • Knowledge of legal databases (CanLII, SEDAR+, Westlaw, or LexisNexis).
  • Bilingualism (French/English) will be considered an important asset to facilitate regular collaboration with the global Legal Affairs team and participation in global projects.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research on various corporate law, securities, labor law, and regulatory compliance matters.
  • Draft and review legal memos, research summaries, and comparative analyses.
  • Participate in drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, confidentiality agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Support the review and negotiation of commercial agreements with suppliers and partners.
  • Maintain contract records and track contractual deadlines and obligations.
  • Participate in special projects related to compliance, ESG, and internal policies.
  • Contribute to the development and updating of governance policies and internal procedures.
  • Assist in managing relationships with external legal counsel.
  • Perform various administrative tasks related to the legal department.
