About The Position

As a CNC Tube Bender Programmer/Technician, you will program, set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC tube-bending equipment to manufacture precision tube assemblies for spacecraft, propulsion systems, and other aerospace applications. You will develop and modify programs, establish machine setups, and work with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to produce flight-ready hardware.

The role includes preparing, forming, inspecting, assembling, and integrating metallic tubing and related fluid-system hardware. It also involves maintaining equipment and tooling, following safety and quality protocols, documenting work and inspections, and supporting continuous improvement. Successful candidates will be located near Long Beach, California. The role is listed as onsite.

Requirements

• Technical degree, certificate, apprenticeship, or equivalent training in CNC machining, manufacturing, aerospace, mechanical, welding, fabrication, or a related field.
• Relevant experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC tube benders, rotary-draw benders, press benders, or comparable precision forming equipment.
• Proficiency reading engineering drawings, GD&T, bend tables, process sheets, and work instructions.
• Experience creating, editing, verifying, and troubleshooting CNC tube-bending programs and machine parameters.
• Experience setting up machines, changing tooling, establishing offsets, adjusting parameters, and troubleshooting dimensional or forming issues.
• Experience working with metallic tubing, fittings, valves, manifolds, pressure systems, or related aerospace hardware.
• Experience working in ESD-sensitive, FOD-critical, and cleanroom environments.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, torque tools, precision measurement equipment, CNC machinery, and specialized manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds and work in and around constrained or confined spaces.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and accurately document completed work, inspection results, CNC program revisions, and test data.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations under ITAR.

• Experience programming and operating CNC rotary-draw tube benders and aerospace tube-bending equipment.
• Experience with Eaton Leonard, BLM, VLB, Unison, or comparable CNC tube-bending machines.
• Experience with tube-bending programming software, bend simulation, or CNC manufacturing programming systems.
• Experience developing programs for thin-wall, close-tolerance, or complex multi-plane tubing.
• Experience in tube bending, flaring, swaging, forming, and precision fitting.
• Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, nickel alloys, or other aerospace materials.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5, aerospace manufacturing standards, and dimensional inspection practices.
• Experience with leak, proof, pressure, flow, or functional testing.
• Experience with orbital tube welding, aerospace welding, brazing, or soldering.
• Experience supporting spacecraft integration, propulsion systems, qualification testing, or production operations.
• Experience with cleanroom protocols, high-purity fluid systems, cryogenic systems, vacuum systems, or high-pressure gas systems.
• Experience using ERP, MES, manufacturing execution, or electronic traveler systems.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, verify, and optimize CNC tube-bending programs using engineering drawings, bend tables, tube centerline dimensions, bend allowances, rotation values, material specifications, and process documentation; simulate programs when applicable and make approved adjustments.
• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC tube-bending machines; load and unload tubing, install tooling, establish offsets, verify bend sequences, and troubleshoot forming or dimensional issues.
• Cut, deburr, clean, bend, flare, swage, form, and fit metallic tubing to dimensional, cosmetic, and cleanliness standards.
• Inspect tube assemblies using precision measurement equipment; perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections and accurately record results.
• Fit and assemble bent tubes with fittings, valves, manifolds, brackets, panels, trays, and other fluid-system hardware; support routing, alignment, installation, torquing, leak checking, and system integration.
• Perform routine machine maintenance, tooling changes, setup verification, and basic troubleshooting; identify equipment, tooling, or programming issues and support corrective actions.
• Follow machine safety, hazardous materials, FOD prevention, ESD control, cleanroom, material handling, safety, and quality protocols.
• Support improvements to CNC programs, tooling, work instructions, inspection methods, and manufacturing processes; provide technical support and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
