The TT Stock Prep Setup Technician will set up and operate a variety of machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to fabricate or repair machine tools and maintain industrial machines. This role involves setting up and adjusting Truck Tire Cutting and BAC/Apex bead machines equipment to specification for quality and production. The technician will monitor assigned machines to maintain productive efficiency and reduce downtime on quality and production systems. Utilizing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge, the technician will set up and maintain automated systems for quality and production, including beadwire detectors, 2D laser systems, KEYENCE, dog ear detection, and weight systems on BACs, and will develop similar systems in PCT and Hot Prep. The role also includes directing other setup technicians on best practices and training for systems in Hot/Cold Prep and PCT, supervising and auditing current checks on automated systems, and maintaining accurate daily records of machine history. Effective communication with Floor Supervisor, Lead Supervisor, and other Setup Technicians regarding malfunctions or breakdowns is essential. The technician will coordinate and perform routine scheduled MTC checks and corrections, perform work as directed by Lead Supervisor and/or Department Manager related to machine efficiency and high-quality production, and schedule critical parts and repairs of machines with PM. Ensuring all ESH procedures, policies, and legal requirements are implemented and monitored is also a key responsibility.
