About The Position

The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world (representing over 80,000 pilots at 42 U.S. and Canadian airlines) seeks an experienced Trust Services Analyst for our office in Tysons (McLean), Virginia. Under the guidance of senior staff and management and as an integral part of the Member Insurance Team, the Trust Services Analyst they will assist the Boards of ALPA-sponsored insurance entities by providing analysis, communications strategies, and operational and customer-service assistance for the: ALPA Pilot Welfare Benefit Plan (PWBP); Voluntary Employees’ Beneficiary Association (VEBA); ALPA Canada Insurance Trust (ACIT); and, Air Canada Pilots Benefits Trust (ACPBT). Serving as the primary operational contact between members, trustees, insurers, and ALPA staff, they will develop options and analysis as requested by the Boards and present their findings. They will also ensure accurate processing of member inquiries, Extended Mutual Aid (EMA) intake and documentation, claim verification, monthly payment workflows, and secure recordkeeping. They safeguard trust assets and protect member benefits while maintaining strict confidentiality and adherence to departmental procedures. Travel: 5 - 10%. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant area, e.g. Insurance, Business, Accounting, or Finance, from an accredited college or university required; or, equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Three (3) years analysis and/or customer-service experience; five (5) or more preferred.
  • Voluntary benefits insurance and trust experience is a definite plus.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated performance as a self-starter with the ability to work independently, without close supervision, and provide solutions to various issues as they arise.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written, for effective interaction with all levels of contacts, internal and external.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook required; experience with Aptify, SharePoint, and Tableau preferred.

Responsibilities
