About The Position

Pape’ Kenworth, a premier medium and heavy-duty truck and equipment dealer in the West, is seeking an Experienced Truck Technician to join their team. This role involves maintaining and repairing medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and high standards. The technician will support customer success by keeping their trucks running smoothly and maximizing uptime. Daily tasks include diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues, identifying solutions, and restoring trucks to peak performance. Work may involve repairing or rebuilding major components such as cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems. The position offers opportunities for skill improvement alongside other trained technicians in a fully equipped shop, with access to tools, training, and support.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks.
  • Experience with engine repair, electronic troubleshooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Self-motivation and assertiveness.
  • Ability to work under little or no supervision.
  • Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
  • Must provide own tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Diesel tech degree and a mechanical aptitude/background.
  • Kenworth Essentials certifications.
  • Cummins and MX software experience.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues on medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks.
  • Repair or rebuild major components including cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems.
  • Maintain and repair trucks to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and high standards.
  • Support customer success by keeping their trucks running smoothly and maximizing uptime.
  • Perform top-quality work in a fully equipped shop.
