We are currently looking for a skilled Truck Shop Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of trucks and pickups to ensure safe, reliable operation across all company divisions. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced shop environment, ideal for someone with strong diagnostic skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work independently. You'll play a key role in minimizing downtime and keeping operations running efficiently.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of truck systems including electrical, air, hydraulic, and drivetrain components
  • Experience using diagnostic software and engine analysis tools
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license required; must meet company insurance carrier's driving eligibility requirements

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certification or equivalent experience
  • Post-secondary training in diesel technology or related field
  • Experience with welding and fabrication
  • CDL is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, service, and repair trucks and pickups, including diesel engines
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, engine computer systems, and wiring
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on suspensions, drivetrains, air brake systems, and hydraulics
  • Use computer-based diagnostic tools to identify and resolve mechanical issues
  • Complete accurate repair orders and properly document all work performed
  • Maintain and organize shop tools, equipment, and workspace
  • Monitor parts inventory and communicate needs to the supervisor
  • Follow all safety procedures and report any safety concerns immediately
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and assist with complex repairs as needed
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, drivers, and team members regarding equipment status
