Truck Press Operator (TPO)- Illinois
About The Position
Continental is hiring a Truck Press Operator to operate and monitor presses in a manufacturing environment. The role includes observing presses while operating a walkie, positioning green tire buggies, using a hoist to load tires onto loader pans when the Hirata robot is not loading the press, spraying molds to prevent tires from sticking, and using press control panels to reset presses or place them in manual mode. Comprehensive training is provided. This is heavy work in a non-climate-controlled environment with temperature changes, forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise. New hires will likely be placed on shifts that include evenings and weekends. Safety procedures and guidelines must be followed at all times, including wearing hearing protection and steel-toe shoes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 0–2 years of manufacturing experience.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing hearing protection and steel-toe shoes.
- Perform frequent lifting up to 100 pounds and occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Perform frequent reaching and twisting, and occasionally climb stairs or ladders, squat, and bend.
Responsibilities
- Operate a walkie while continually observing presses.
- Move green tire buggies into place when necessary.
- Use a hoist to load tires onto loader pans when the press is not being loaded by the Hirata robot.
- Spray molds when necessary to prevent tires from sticking.
- Operate press control panels when a press needs to be reset or placed in manual mode.
