About The Position

The Press Operator sets up, operates, and maintains flexographic printing presses used to produce high-quality labels. The role requires maintaining print quality while meeting production schedules, including setting up presses for production, matching colors, monitoring print quality, and troubleshooting equipment and print-related issues. Openings are available on second and third shift; the stated second shift is 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Requirements

Previous experience operating flexographic printing presses.
Knowledge of color matching, ink systems, print registration, and substrate handling.
Ability to read job tickets and understand print specifications.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the label or narrow-web printing industry.
Experience working with Mark Andy, Nilpeter, and Bobst presses.
Experience with pressure-sensitive labels.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate flexographic printing presses to produce quality labels according to job specifications.
Prepare presses for production by mounting plates, setting inks, adjusting registration, and preparing substrates.
Match colors and maintain consistent print quality throughout production runs.
Monitor press operation for proper registration, color accuracy, and print quality.
Inspect finished product for defects and make adjustments as needed.
Perform quality checks throughout production and maintain accurate production records.
Troubleshoot press, ink, and print-related issues to minimize downtime and waste.
Work with production and prepress teams to ensure jobs meet customer specifications.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety procedures.
Perform routine press maintenance and assist with equipment troubleshooting.
