About The Position

Burrtec Waste Industries, Inc. is hiring a Truck Maintenance I employee for its Santa Clarita Division. The role involves maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel and gasoline trucks and equipment. The employee will perform scheduled maintenance, assist other staff, and occasionally provide roadside assistance. Work includes outdoor exposure to changing weather, moderate noise, and dust, as well as working overhead and underneath equipment. The position requires the ability to move heavy objects weighing up to 75 pounds.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in heavy-duty diesel and gasoline truck repair and equipment maintenance.
Valid California Driver's License.
Ability to safely drive forklifts.
Ability to change oil and filters on engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and differentials.
Ability to inspect truck pre-maintenance inspection forms, complete forms, and properly use tools to safely complete work.
Ability to walk, sit, stand, touch, stoop, lift, and climb or move heavy objects up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work overhead and underneath equipment.

Responsibilities

Change engine, transmission, hydraulic-system, and differential oil and filters, and lubricate chassis.
Replace brakes; mount and dismount tires; replace hydraulic hoses and cylinders; and remove and replace air valves.
Check and repair lights and truck fluids according to schedule.
Assist others and occasionally perform roadside assistance.
Follow safety rules and keep the work area clean.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
